Can someone help me understand the behaviour of this Englishman?

Basically I was in a pub at lunchtime with colleagues, and i started to get a little tipsy. one of my colleagues,, a 50 years old guy, was still drinking, so i finished his glass. he looked away and seemed embarassed. then he gave me a lift back at work and he poked my leg and winked at me. do you think he got the wrong signal :-D?
