ESL/ELL issues ..... Help needed from ELL/ESL teachers..?

I must write a paper about a challenge or issue in the teaching of reading and/or writing in ESL/ELL (English language learners) but I am burned out from school and working and just can not think of anything. The example she gave in class was comprehension, but I do not want to use that because I am sure a lot of other people will since that was her example. Could someone help me with a topic? And give a bit of info on why you think that it is a problem? thank you!
